Yesterday we wrote about a few high-end pool houses and pavilions; today we're visiting their working class cousins, humble garden sheds. They offer the potential for a small but useful converted space and, unlike pool houses, they exist in lots of backyards across America...
Depending on the size of your space, possible uses include an extra bedroom, an artist's studio, a writer's nook, or a home office. The images shown above include a guest house decorated in flea market finds, a tool shed that's been outfitted with a dining table and desk, a modern shed you could rent for the weekend, a teenager's ultra-cool bedroom, and a tiny outdoor office.

And now you have entered upon one of my minor fetishes.

Don't forget the converted garden shed that infallible heroine Dr. Sidney Hansen called home on Providence...

When I think of my fantasy home, I envision a little getaway shed in the backyard.

a little off topic but, that lace cover on that comforter is AMAZING i've been trying to find one that won't obliterate my bank account (sigh, college student) I've found some at antique stores but I can't help but think they are fantastiscally marked up in comparison with something new.

My apartment is actually my landlord's completely detached garage! Okay, a little bit bigger than a shed, but a pretty nice place to live for a renter out here in suburbia.

This post wouldn't be complete without Modern Shed: http://modern-shed.com/
I've been dreaming about putting one of these sheds...or two or three... my backyard for years.
