There are some ideas that are so simple it's crazy. They typically fall into the category of "why didn't I think of that." Window treatments aren't usually found for just a few dollars, which is why we love the idea above. Click through the jump to see the easy tips on turning this inexpensive blind into something fantastic.
Jessica Jones over at How About Orange whipped up this great twist on a plain old roller blind.
By mapping out her design on the backside of a roll of contact paper and cutting it out, she was able to dress up what normally would be painfully plain (or something you might be stuck with... any renters out there?). Check out her full post on the project, complete with a downloadable PDF of her design, as well as many other tips on making this project go as successfully as possible.

Where does one buy contact paper?! I've looked in hardware and craft stores alike...well, I've looked at their websites anyway.

I love contact paper, I used it to refinish the top of our tulip dining table and looks great

Contact paper can be found at most discount stores and dollar stores. Target, Kmart, Walgreens, Big Lots, should all have contact paper in the same aisle as the shelving liner used in kitchen drawers - that's where I see them.

Great idea! For circles I think I would have traced around a pots, pans, and glasses for it to be nicer looking. Other designs might look better free form.

Does the shade roll up all the way with the decals on it? I also have roller blinds in my rooms and this is an adorable idea I will have to try!
