It doesn't get much simpler than the home of Danish designer Tine Kjeldsen. An advocate of basic, comfortable home furnishings, Kjeldsen translates that style into her company. The Tine K catalog offers a rare treat: a glimpse inside the shopowner's real-life home. You can see that she practices what she preaches...

From Kjeldsen: "The style is a mix of Asian, French, Scandinavian and Moroccan. I like to mix colours, shapes and surfaces - despite the differences in cultures I manage to combine all impressions to a higher level of a ”very clean and simple style."

"It is the greyish, ashy, dull and ”cold" colours that I love for the moment. Contrast in interior is important - that is why I mix these colours together with clear dark purple or clean white - this can be done with many different objects - perhaps a cushion or just a beautiful flower…"

"I also get inspiration from food, shapes and colours from flowers and especially when traveling. When I travel on business or with my family I see new shapes, colours, materials all around me and here I always bring my little notebook so I can write down all ideas to be sure that they are not lost."

wow, that is really a home someone lives in? I always look at these catalogs and go "yeah, right, to look at, but not if you actually lived there", so I guess she's making me eat my words.

I love it!! The dining room looks very relaxing and all I'd need is a cushion for the chair to make me happy. Wish my place looked like this.

I think the dining room is beautiful and serene; BUT, I would hate to have to pull up that rug underneath the dining table after something drops or spills on it.
