Decorating is all about balance...even instant decorating. One of the quickest ways to spruce up a space involves the art of arrangements. The key to instant arranging involves two parts: 1) limiting the number of knick-knacks you own and 2) having just enough to make it interesting. We rounded up a few of our favorite arrangements, with the right combination of balance and personality, from AT House Tours...

Are those marbles in the first photo?! I think I'm in love.

Me TOO!!! I think I've seen them before but not sure where. Does anyone know if they have a name or something? Where can you find them?

Hey, its Dave...the owner of the ceramic letter balls. And apparently a pretty good arranger. I just read the comments about the balls and saw the link to the Ballard Design web page...I had to take a minute to sob quietly to myself. I bought them in Manhattan at a very cool little shop. I was under the impression that they were actual vintage oddities and paid the staggering amount of $15 and $20 for EACH ball. Well, I guess you can't win everytime. I do know that I don't care to lovingly display anything that can be picked up at Ballard design! On the plus side, I don't have to yell at my cat anymore when he pops one out of the bowl and bats it around my flat!

I've paid more for balls in Manhattan.
The comment "I do know that I don't care to lovingly display anything that can be picked up at Ballard design!" seems pretty snobby to me, btw.

My cubemate is on board for homemade ink blots in our cubicle! Yay us!
And I love the balls too, but who REALLY needs a whole alphabet? A few hand selected would be nice, though.

Love, love LOVE the ink blots!! Can anyone tell me exactly how to make these? Sounds rather messy...
That room would also look great with one of MY geometric patterened black and white globes! They are at www.etsy.com under Raffie111's shop. Or hanging globes.
Gee, hope it was ok to mention that?

I had seen the alphabet balls at a show house, thought the ballard price was a bit too much.
They just got them in my latest coldwater creek catalog, $29.50 for a set of 26 (think ballard was $140 for a set of 52)
Hope this helps those of you who are not too proud to lovingly display something that can be picked up even cheaper than Ballard Designs-LOL
_Always_ wait it out or shop around, you'll _always_ find it cheaper.
