How about A Clockwork Orange? I love those interiors! Who could forget the Korova Milk Bar or Alex's bedroom with the puffy bedspread and erotic art?

Gregory Peck's little apartment in Rome is my DREAM apartment!

Wouldn't the Apartment be a bachelor pad? Or better yet a Love Shack. Not a couple's place, though.

And I am so in love with James Mason's house from North by Northwest ... I watch it every single time it's on - at least the last 1/3 of the film so I can see my dream home again!

Oh and if you're talking Hitchcock, don't forget Jimmy Stewart's apartment in Vertigo ... which I was happy to find out was shot in a real apartment - complete with fantastic view.

Blow-up and North by Northwest, for sure. But The Graduate? Those interiors were intentionally tacky, soulless, suburban hell.

My favourite interior is the house in "Forbidden planet" - no oscar winner though... and I always wanted my own Robbie the Robot.

I also loved the Brady Bunch and Bewitched interiors... so ordered, so colourful...

Okay, now that I see the whole schedule of what they're showing this year, I have to add:

- Gene Kelly's impossibly small studio apt. in AN AMERICAN IN PARIS
- Lauren Bacall's sweet penthouse flat in DESIGNING WOMAN
- The hotel suite in BORN YESTERDAY
- Hepburn and Tracy's apt. in ADAM'S RIB (I always wanted a duplex apt.!)
- Cary Grant and Constance Bennett's apt. in TOPPER

François Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451. I am not a design geek, but even I was blown away by the interiors in this movie.

A lot of French noirs from the 60's also have amazing interiors.

@ ridge_van_winkle: Agreed! I wish I could do a complete North by Northwest architectural tour. If only the Vandamm home existed (http://www.jetsetmodern.com/modatmovies.htm). God, I love that film.

ahhhh... I just like all of these pics except for maybe two but Breakfast at Tiffanys is great. I love Audrey Hepburn's apartment with the picture perfect fire escape, the tub sofa, and funny cat

@hiccupish: Yes! The Almodovar movie inspired our local theatre to a 'psychedelic wallpaper in movies'-theme.

While the French movies 'Les parapluies de Cherbourg' only got 5 Oscar nominations (no wins) the use of colour is very inspirational: http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/IMG/jpg/Parapluies__1.jpg

RE: North by Northwest
Agreed. It's almost a movie-within-a-movie about architecture: the Georgian mansion, the UN, the great villain house... Oh, I want to watch it again right now.
