Interiors from Godard's Contempt

For Valentine's Day, we wanted to share one of our favorite apartments from a very sexy movie: Jean Luc Godard's Contempt. It might not be the most romantic film ever, but it's definitely hot...just look at those chairs! More below.

If you don't mind a little 1960s new wave ennui and a not-so-happy ending, it's a great Valentine's Day rental. In our book Bridget Bardot, modernist furniture, and a lot of sex appeal beats a romantic comedy any day. Plus, the shots from this apartment scene make brilliant use of the interior spaces. Love the dress she's wearing - I have to learn to sew! they just don't make clothes like that anymore, sigh . . .

A great movie. His fatalism, her boredom, who is really using who? Visually stunning and characters that are believable and don't do the right things or learn from any of their mistakes.

That's just so hilarious. I really don't think this is a great Valentine's Day rental since the movie is about the breakdown of a marriage. Did you guys actually watch this film? I know the furniture is supersexy, but c'mon.
