The problem with wet rocks is that, after filling pockets and trudging all the way home, they've up and dried out. This treasure, once glistening and so vivid in color, is suddenly nothing more than a pile of stupid rocks.

We tend to get just as color-enamored in a paint shop as we do on the beach. Can you blame us? A color chip rainbow is beautiful! We've fallen into the trap of choosing wall color because it looks so promising in the store. Only after painting the entire room do we realize it's wrong.

We used to think color testing was for the weak of heart but, after painting too many walls the color of disappointment, we're buying samples next time. No more dumb rock piles for us.
