We've heard mixed reviews of the Sliding Door Company from lovers and haters. We've never used them ourselves, but we do think their website is a great resource for inspiration. Our recent post on pocket doors sent us looking for modern alternatives, and this company offers a few ideas...

Using frosted glass doors divides a large space without blocking light from the windows.

If you need to add more privacy to a loft space at the top of the stairs, sliding doors can partition the area without walling it off completely.

Locations can be found throughout the US (read the AT:LA review here). The Sliding Door Company's Chicago showroom is located at 221 W. Ohio Street in Chicago.
Pricing? The Sliding Door Company quoted us $10,000 on a 3-panel unit for a 8' x 9' wall.

Yes, the pricing tended to be on the high side of things. But what struck me more than anything else about their NYC showroom was the SLEAZE factor. I really felt like I was in one of those Times Square electronic stores with the heavy sales tactics and the gum-popping blase attitude.

The above information regarding pricing is absolutely false. A 3-panel system for an 8ft x 9ft wall will run approx. $2,400.00--The Sliding Door Company offers a very affordable solution with the highest quality materials!

This product is a great alternative to the other types of wall systems that cost thousands of dollars more!
