100208-ninasaunders1.jpg At first glance you might think these "Puzzle Chairs" by Nina Saunders to be just absurd. There is a line between getting to know someone and "getting to know someone." 100208-nina1.jpg After checking out Nina's website and seeing her other works of art, we came to the quick conclusion that her pieces were in fact, sculptural.

100208-nina2.jpg Her designs take a fun and whimsical play on design with the addition of animals and traditional pieces, with a bit of a twist.

These are hideous. But her upholsterer must be a genius. Please, someone find me his number!

I don't think these are either useful or ornamental, what a waste of time and money. JMO

These are works of art, they're made to be statements, experiments, assemblages, for a gallery space. They are not made to be actual useful pieces of furniture, nor are they intended to be beautiful, reproaching this is being besides the point.
However, this type of confusion (between design and contemporary art) is frequent on AT, even if here the post clearly says it, they're sculptural.

I adore that first chair. It's pretty, clever and looks cozy to climb into it and put your feet up all curled up with a blanket.
Talk about a love seat...

LOL
The puzzle chairs are entertaining.
The animal chairs just scare me. Not sure why.

I agree with comicgeek, the craftsmanship on these looks impeccable. I respect them just for that.
