Relaxed Rooms from Verzelloni

Italian furniture company Verzelloni has a spare, minimalist aesthetic, but their furniture doesn't come off as cold. Instead, the rooms in their catalog look comfortable and inviting. Some chairs are even slouchy. Click below for ideas on how to get the same relaxed look in your own home...

These low-to-the-ground chairs are modern versions of the classic beanbag, and they have the same unpretentious quality. With a rug and a floor lamp, this setting makes a great reading nook. Photo: Zoe Chair.

To create conversation areas, cluster chairs together. Instead of a television or a fireplace, the focal point in this arrangement is a large vintage metal sign. Photo: Zoe Chair.

This haphazard arrangement of stools serves several functions. They can be pulled up to sofa and used a side table, makeshift TV tray, or spot to put your feet up. Photo: Holden Sofa.

Tile floors and large windows make this feel more like a sunroom than a living room. Stacks of books hang out on a wooden bench. Photo: Itaca Sofa.

The bookshelves in the background of this photo aren't pristine. Stacks of magazines and knick knacks are allowed to hang out with more organized rows of books. Photo: Calvino Chair.

One of our favorite ideas from Verzelloni: add casters to large potted plants so that you can wheel them around and move them into the best sunlight. Photo: Avedon Sofa.

Very funny. There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to get their furniture in the US.

I don't understand why that dog is laying outside when he/she could be laying on one of those big dog beds.

I'm loving that yellow ottoman. Also I'm desperately trying to find the best yellow fabric to make a DIY yellow tufted ottoman. Yellow velvet, specifically.
