Area rugs, wallpaper, pillows and throws are a few ways to bring pattern into your home, but have you thought about giving your whole floor the pattern treatment? Granted, this isn't something that's easy for renters to do (although we do know of at least one way to create a non-permanent patterned floor). A stenciled, painted, or tiled floor represents a big commitment...but the payoff can really be worth it. Click below for a few examples:

I took nine colors of FLOR's House Pet in shades of blue, green, gray and black and made a wall-to-wall Sudoku puzzle in my living room. Fabulous. All about color on the floor. Walls are ultra pure white natch.

That striped floor is trippy -- as in, trip and fall on your face, it's so dizzying.

It would be great if people got area rugs that were as large as they were supposed to be, then this wouldn't be such a big deal.
