• 1 Lillian's apartment ledge provides extra shelving behind the sofa.
• 2 Lila's home office is constructed from a ledge that wraps around the window.
• 3 A small kitchen ledge covers the radiator and holds a windowsill garden.
• 4 Roy and Jen use their window ledge as extra seating.
• 5 In Wayne's diagonal home, a ledge at the base of the stairs acts as a TV stand.

Some critics are gonna say some of these make your home feel like a hotel. I say "get over it!"
Apartments don't have unlimited space so being creative is half the fun. Great work with all of these rooms.

I have a floating shelf up behind my sofa level with the top. It's not only great because it elimanates a need for side tables (which I do not have room for) but it also conceals a useful storage space behind my couch. It's where I keep my extra dining chairs (folding ones) and my clothes iron. My apartement does not have ANY closet space other than a tiny bedroom closet so I've had to get creative.

I really like the first one--nicely done. I was thinking of doing something similar in a client's house.
