Small Space Solution: Horizontal Mirrors

Everyone knows that mirrors can increase the sense of scale in a small space, but they don't have to be standard vertical or picture-sized mirrors. A long, horizontal mirror hung a little lower or higher than eye level can create the illusion of a panoramic window...

By hanging the mirror above or below eye level, the reflection frames a vignette without serving the typical function of a looking glass. It also opens up space where it's least expected. Hang a long, low mirror over a credenza or bench. High horizontal mirrors look good over a bookshelf, on a bathroom wall, or over a mantle.

Love mirrors. Friends call my place the House of Mirrors. But they really add a feeling of space in a tiny foot print. And since the reflective surfaces match, you can be really eclectic with the frames. The key is they need to reflect something cool.

I notice this setup has the one mirror directly in front of the other so you get the infinite reflections effect. Very cool.
