Compiling our post on picnic equipment the other day, we came across some very useful camping gear that could easily fit into a small apartment as extra seating and collapsible storage. The cook set above, for example, has folding handles and a nested design that makes storing pots and pans a little easier. Click below for other ideas...
FIRST ROW
• 1 Nesting Pots & Pans: Coleman Stainless Steel Cook Set from Campmor, $40
• 2 A Stowable Guest Bed: Swedish Folding Cot from L.L. Bean, $99
• 3 Folding Storage: Collapsible Basket from Coleman, $20
• 4 Store Your Seasonal Clothes: Pack It Half Cube from Uncle Dan's, $8
• 5 A Folding Coffee Table: Snow Peak Single Action Low Folding Table, $120
SECOND ROW
• 6 Collapsible Table & Chairs: Mini Picnic Table with Stool Set from REI, $69
• 7 Blanket Storage: Altrec Travel Blanket, $30
• 8 Small Space Laundry Bag: Therm-a-Rest Stuff Sack Pillow from REI, $20
• 9 An Outdoor Folding Table: Browning Aluminum Camp Table, $50
• 10 Stowable Seating: Folding Bamboo Chair from Snow Peak, $130
My friends in a small studio always used camping chairs for extra seating when guests came over, not a bad idea!

How smart! I don't have a cohesive set of cooking pots and pans, so you want to bet there's my next purchase ;)

Great idea! After I saw this I ran right out to the local camping store and picked up a couple of metal camp tables to use as bedside tables. I have a really cramped space and they fit perfectly. I'm not 100% sure if I like the look yet, tho.

I have the exactly the same X-frame camp table as the larger one above and I use it indoors and out. It provides extra dining space at my cook outs and buffet or kid's dining space at family dinners. I've used it as a craft table (with my cutting board over the slats) and when I'm done, it rolls up into a case that occupies about 4 square inches (standing upright, against the wall) of my closet's floor space. It's a few inches lower than a standard dining table so I got bed risers to raise it up for adult dining outdoors.
