On 1stbids today, we came across these glamorous rooms by interior designer Robert Brown, who works out of Georgia. Brown's designs seem so very Southern to us. Maybe it's the long drapes, elaborate foyers, and large-scale chandeliers - all opulent details rooted in tradition...

Brown says, "In my mind, Southern design is always classically based with a "tip of the hat" to our rich heritage." We definitely see that sensibility in these rooms, which feel like they blend contemporary pieces with several generations' worth of family heirlooms.

I love sleek yet traditional rooms such as these...

Lovely. But they don't strike me as especially southern. The grand foyers and elaborate draperies are markers of money, not region.

Yeeeeeah I wouldn't call Robert (Bob) Brown's style overly Southern. It's more of a transitional look that is popular overall, through the country lately.
In addition to being an extremely talented designer, Bob is also a wonderful person, and I am extremely honored that I know him.
