We all know that going overboard with a theme can spell disaster, but there are tasteful ways to incorporate something you love into the way you live. By limiting yourself to a few choice objects, you can decorate around a theme and not end up in the design doghouse. Here are some recent finds:

Awesome.

You missed the "A Breed Apart" collectible figurines. I couldn't resist getting one for each of my dogs.

About the term "original giclee print" though -

Technically there's really no such thing. Giclee is a term for inkjet. It roughly translates as "to spray". So the "original" is either a digital file, or the "original" has been scanned into a digital file.

Great clarification, boomer. I DESPISE companies that misrepresent giclees as anything but cheap reproductions. "Giclee" essentially means "crappier than a lithograph."

Arch -

Giclee does NOT equal crappy.

Giclee prints in most cases are even archival, meaning they will still look good long after you and I have passed.

Giclee prints are also more detailed than a litho in many cases.

Good giclee prints, the only ones worthy of the name, are done on drum printers costing many tens of thousands of dollars. Desktop inkjets like Epson are not worthy of being called Giclee, although they do produce extremely good, archival prints that in some cases can rival a traditional silver based photo print.

Your comment is based on bias, and not educated fact.

Yeah, dogs! I collect old dog paintings, and have them grouped together on one wall in my bedroom. One looks sort of lame . . . all together, it has a great impact.

I like that Birdy collects dogs. Haha...

And thanks for all the giclee/original/print talk! This is all really informative.

I love that you didn't think breed specific when going canine with your designs, because I find most all dogs adorable. The variety of doggie inspired design is also quite refreshing. Not your usual fare--and I have a good notion of what's out there -- my mama is dog crazy so I've perused quite a bit of doggie themed stuff.
