Pilsen by Joseph Desler Costa
We were excited to see the latest Time Out Chicago representing different neighborhoods in photographic style. With the eyes of both pro and amateur photographers (readers were selected from the magazine's first-ever reader photo contest), many images and views of this city compile the issue. Documenting Pilsen, Ravenswood Manor, Rogers Park, South Shore, and Gold Coast, these pics remind us how much we love Chicago. Here are the pros' shots and the winning reader entry. Favorite neighborhood? Favorite photo? Tell us!

unfortunately, i think far better pictures are included daily in gapersblock's rearview section.
my favorite picture i ever took in chicago is linked in my name, from a block party on my friend's block last summer in logan square.
and i actually like this honorable mention more than any of the winners. overall, i was fairly disappointed with the issue. =/
I agree with Jen. I think the photography on Gaper's Block is much better, along with photographs taken by myself and my friends. In my opinion, Time Out's "winner" is really about political correctness more than anything else. The others look like general urban scenes rather than anything that speaks to the city of Chicago specifically.
Pick up the Chicago Reader for free if you want to read about upcoming concerts, movies, happenings.
Yeah pick up the Reader, now you can get a rainbow of newsprint colors all over your hands. I'm glad Time Out moved to town, I was getting pretty sick of all the Readers post grunge eco hippy bohemian freejazz lovin drivel. The only reason to pick up the Reader is if it's raining and you need something quick to cover your head or for Chris Wares comics.
