If these hotels could talk, they might echo the cryptic words of that famous Dubliner, James Joyce, "I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day.”
Created by the Fitzpatrick Design Collection, the Beacon (in Sandyford, South Dublin) and the Morgan (in the trendy Temple Bar neighborhood) are decorated in Philippe Starck furniture, glitzy chandeliers and candelabras, and ornate upholstered and mirrored beds.
• The first row of photos shows the Beacon. You can see more right here.
• The second row gives a mini tour of the Morgan, which you can find more on here.

I don't like purple but that purple blanket is gorgeous.
Nice photos.

These spaces all look rather cold and unwelcoming to me, in addition to the fact that they could be anywhere on the globe. I'd sooner opt for one of Dublin's many bed and breakfast establishments -- much more personality, and at a fraction of the price.

What a gorgeous place. I'd definitely like to stay there (if I had the $$) :)

I'll take one of those bathtubs, thanks!

The Beacon is awful. The decor is already looking ragged around the edges and the hotel is situated in an office park several miles from the centre of the city. I'd avoid the Morgan also for modern decor try the Dylan - it's in a decent location as well.

Way too much white in every single picture.

Ah! I travel to Dublin often for business. The Morgan is by far my favorite hotel in the City Centre. This is due to both its level of comfort and its relative affordability.
I have stayed at the Beacon as well (the sister hotel to the Morgan) in Sandyford.
Both are fine hotels with GREAT service. The Morgan is much preferred due to its centralized location in Temple Bar and proximity to Trinity College and the LUAS for me.
At the time that they first got built and/or refurbished (in the case of the Morgan) five years ago, the decor was quite fresh. Even now, I enjoy the clean white room, luxurious bedding and mirrored furniture. For someone who is on the road a considerable amount of time, this hotel is a very welcome respite for me. I am treated well and the rooms allow me to be well rested.
In fact, I left an entire shopping bags worth of expensive whiskeys and gifts on my last visit. I alerted the management via email and the staff was nice enough to mail the package to me in the States at no charge.
Be aware that the hotel lobby and restaurant converts into a club at night and can be quite loud. If you are looking for a quiet room, ask for a refurbished room on or close to the top floor.
