Talk about a lot of light! London firm Turner Castle designed this house to have open staircases, skylights, and walls of windows. The result is a very modern, very open space. It's more minimal and a lot less lived-in than most of the spaces we blog on Apartment Therapy, but we wanted to share this house for a few small details we enjoyed...

This clustered chandelier sets off the spareness of the room. One or two ornate details can give a lot of life to a minimal space.

Staircases and hallways are often neglected spaces when it comes to light, although they're some of the most functional and important spots in a home. We love the 3 windows behind this glass-and-wood stairway.

This isn't a huge home, but it can handle a large sectional because of the floor-to-ceiling windows, open floor plans, and the emphasis on a few major pieces of furniture.

The sculptural staircase is the focal point of the house. There's also room for storage beneath the stairs.

The shower isn't enclosed in a curtained space, but rather becomes part of a modern "wet room."

Stunning, simply stunning.

I'd be glad to have the cash the owner must obviously possess but homes like these always seem so dead to me. I like the good, old, AT fan type house.

I really admire homes that are so austere. I strive for this look but find that one must be very disciplined to live this way... or else have lots of hidden storage space.
