Uses For The Ever Wonderful Plastic Squeeze Bottle

111308-squeezebottles.jpg They hold our shampoo, our condiments (hopefully those two things aren't interchangeable) and occasionally our art supplies. See where we use ours and tell us what your plastic squeeze bottles hold after the jump!

They are simple little items. Plastic squeeze bottles. They remove the branding and labels from our products and give us a break from packaging. What function do they serve in your house?

Here's where they can be found in ours!:

  • The Kitchen: holding our dish soap and homemade magic shell and bbq sauce
  • The Bathroom: holding our shampoo, conditioner and body wash (as shown above)
  • The Art Studio: holding our paints when pulling screen prints

Tell us below where you can find them in your spaces!

I like brands. That way I remember which brand I don't like and don't buy it again. Weird, I know!

I use a squeeze bottle for diluted vinegar in the shower. I rinse my hair with it (wash with soap). As a plus, I can also clean soap scum off the faucet with it.

In the kitchen, I use glass bottles (from beer, etc) for vinegar, oil, and mixtures of the two.

I don't use these. It seems fussy to go through the trouble of emptying something into an entirely different container. Unless the container is pretty. But for shampoo and conditioner? Unnecessary.

Diatomaceous earth, to be puffed along the baseboards as an insect killer.

Strangely, I had a really difficult time tracking down these bottles in the fall. Apparently many retailers only sell them in the summer as a picnic accessory.

    Idiotdogbrain:
I actually take my squeeze bottles to my local coop where I buy shampoo and conditioner in bulk. I simply pump the stuff from huge bottles into my own. So, there are situations where you're not emptying one bottle into another. I definitely save money from not buying all the packaging.

We use a squeeze bottle for our olive oil. I doubted my boyfriend when he did it - but I came around. We both cook a lot and it is not only more convenient - but it's easier to use and the container stays cleaner.

I use a squeeze bottle for sweet and condensed milk. I use this in my coffee. The condensed milk comes in a can and is so sticky so putting it in a bottle makes it really easy.
