We didn't even notice this vintage vanity when we first posted this modern farmhouse. It wasn't until Blake Dollahite's house was featured in this month's Dwell that we saw this awesome composition of an old sideboard, cast iron sink, and mirrored cabinet...
We love how this entire vanity "scene" is set using found objects. It really makes for a warm little space that feels at once curated and natural. The sink was salvaged from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. And from the looks of this photo, the old sideboard was around throughout the house's construction:
We wonder if Dollahite saved the sideboard specifically for reuse as a vanity. What do you have around your house that's just waiting for a moment of repurposing inspiration?
