White Bathrooms

5-19-08whitebathroom3.jpg

We spent Sunday painting over the dingy yellowish color in our bathroom with a bright white. The bathroom finally looks and feels clean, but when we went to AT for ideas on how to style our new white bathroom, we realized there were lots of blue, gray, green, yellow, and red bathrooms...but not a lot of white. In response, we thought we'd pull together a post for those people with white bathrooms who need a little inspiration...

Hi. My landlords finally painted my bordello red bathroom white after begging them for 5 years so this post could not have come at a better time! I am considering doing a large horizontal pivot mirror from Restoration or Pottery Barn. Can anyone give me an insight as to the benefits of a pivot mirror other than they look gorgeous?

Love white bathrooms...and white kitchens. I'm fortunate to live in a 1940's apartment with a white bathroom which has white hexagonal tiles on the floor, white glossy wall tiles and a punctuation of black edge tiles.

I love it! The tile in my rental bathroom is a bit dingy, though, so I'm nervous that white walls would just make it look worse... Any good tips on whitening the tile/grout?

I JUST painted the dingy bathroom in my rental with a white with pink undertones (another tip from AT) and it looks infinitely better than the teal color that was there before. Unfortunately, the tub, sink, and toilet now look pretty bad compared to the white, white walls. I think a new show curtain will help cover up the tub, but does anyone have thoughts on how to whiten old porcelain (or make it at least appear whiter)? Should I go bold on accents or add more white to the room?

I also just finished painting my bathroom bright white from a dingy off white. Out tile is, however, a medium gray. I made a shower curtain that incorporated just a splash of yellow. That with a few little yellow flowers is just enough color to make the room more friendly and add some visual interest.

I love the super white KKK walls in my bathroom. I painted it myself. The shower has all white tiles and the floors are ceremaic tiles that are pretty large. My bathroom is bright and looks sanitary....the way I like it.
