Jessica's Jumpstart: Photo Box Face Lift - AFTER

20080122afterbox2.jpg

20080122afterbox5.jpgMission accomplished! I was able to fix my previous cutting error by placing leftover strips of paper over the mis-cuts. I thought that layering a bunch of verticle strips on the front would only add to the look, giving it a multi-textured feel, but I can hardly even see the different levels. Of course, the faux bois gave me this option. If I was working with a more defined pattern, I would have been in trouble.

My project is complete and I am very pleased with the result. So pleased, in fact, that it spurred me onto do...

20080122afterbox4.jpg...another box! I tackled a bright blue file box, that was slightly more difficult because it had the black metal brads on the corners of the lid. This only meant more practice with my X-Acto skills. Even after recovering the two larger boxes, I have plenty of scraps left to move onto the little blue guy up top.
