Best of KBIS 2008: Wood Trend for the Bath

2008-04-16-shower.JPGA trend we saw heating up at KBIS this year...wood finishes for the bath. From the wooden shower "grates" (which look so nice - very spa-like and somewhat Japanese) to an over the top full tub surround, it was definitely showing up all over...

I love wood in the bathroom; it looks so casual yet classy.

Too bad my bathroom is the size of a phone booth. *sigh*

Why did you have to show me this AFTER I finalized my bathroom remodel plans? Of course our bathrooms are so small they would never look as good as these showrooms :)

I like the wood slats on the floor- everything else I am indifferent towards.

I can just see that wooden vanity and tub surround in 20 years - riddled with water spots and delaminating...

I agree, bepsf. I love how wood looks in the bathroom, but I can't imagine it lasting without being diligent about standing water.

Love the wood.

Can the floor slats be removed for [deep] cleaning of whatever gets stuck under them? That would be my only concern.

rocky pond girl -
yes, the wooden floor slats are sort of like a grate - they lift up and out completely
