Wow - I want the retractable lamp in Kitchen #2! Does anyone know the details on this item?

I was thinking the same thing about the retractable lamp! We are also getting ready to redo our kitchen and I love the inspiration. We are thinking of painting the cabinets white as they are old and don't match. see our progress here:

If only my rental kitchen looked like #5. Mine doesn't even have the potential to look good.

I think I'm alone in this but I just don't care about how the kitchen looks. I spend a lot of time in there so I probably should but I just can't get into it. Knick knacks are in my way and I hate anything on the counter because it gets dusty and dirty. I do appreciate the pictures of kitchens with beautiful architecture; its a nice way to add visual appeal without a bunch of crap standing between me and the food.

I love the fact that these are real kitchens, instead of the stylized ones in magazines that look like you couldn't possibly cook in them. These kitchens look like I could actually store stuff and cook in them.

If only I A) had a real kitchen (vs. a unit on one wall of the LR) and B) knew how to cook.

I WANT kitchen number 4. It would be a dream to work in assuming the fridge is under that wood counter somewhere. And it's gorgeous.

Whoops! I'm a dork, the counter I like is an island and the fridge is next to the stove. So it would be a dream to work in.

I like the look of kitchen number one... but what is all of it for? I mean, are all of those vintage looking boxes storing practical items? Or just collecting dust. But it looks very charming.
