Browsing through Xochi Santa Fe's past and present lines of colorful tablecloths, we noticed an emphasis on 1940s color palettes and vintage furnishings. We really like the look, which feels welcoming and would be great in a family kitchen or dining room. To recreate the style at home, we'd combine a basic farm table with colorful Fiestaware, painted second-hand chairs, and a striped or floral tablecloth...

The charm and aesthetically pleasing staging of the first picture really got me. I LOVE that sink, the window above, and the gorgeous patterns. I'd probably hate the peach/pink countertops in real life . . . but in that photo, it really works. :)

Yay! That's how I would describe my kitchen. My next project is a charming floral tablecloth like the 6th picture...

Yay from me too! I decided to stop fighting my 40's style kitchen and just roll with it. It is pretty much the same color/pattern styles as the first pic. I call it Grandma Style.

oh... so my kitchen's decor is 40s too... I really never put any thought into it, just complimented the colors to try and give it a spin that could work for me. And now, I have to admit, I like the combination. My kitchen looks something similar to the first kitchen.
I should've guessed really, since the floor tiles are the same as in my grandmother's house.

I think it's really hard to do vintage-style without making it look like your grandmother's kitchen. Most of the pictures above got it right, but not all. It's something I struggle with, especially since we have an older home. It's a very fine line to walk (imo).

Am I the only one who finds that these particular linens get really wrinkled when washed? My mom gave me a set last Christmas. After ironing them a couple of times, I quit using them.
