Bent Wood Lamps

2006-12-21-lamp.JPG2006-12-21-lamp2.JPG

These hanging lamps have a story. They are designed by Henning Dyes, a 70 year old Costa Rican. According to the Sprout Home site, Dyes began designing and building lamps as a hobby and now has been in business for 20 years.

These have a bit of the vibe of the currently super popular white op-art plastic hanging lamps (like Heather's amazing thrift store find) with some woodsy organic warmth mixed in.

Made of Plantation Pine, these are available for the very reasonable price of $103. from Sprout Home.

There's one of these hanging in the dining room of a house a block from my old apartment -- I used to walk by and stare because it looks so great.
