Bulb Lamps by Sofie Refer

We've been meaning to post these for a while, and with Small Cool happening this month it's the perfect time to mention Sofie Refer's subtle, minimal Bulb Lamps. Designed in 2000, the Bulb Lamp is totally transparent: shade, bulb, and even wire are see-through. The shape follows the form of the classic incandescent bulb, but we think compact fluorescents could add another layer of interest...

These are available through nova 68 in three versions: the original Bulb Pendant Lamp ($145), the Bulb Mega Pendant Lamp ($275), and the Bulb Wall Sconce ($399).

I just received 4 bulb lamps and one Mega Bulb that I will be using in my newly remodeled home. They are gorgeous, made with heavy clear glass. I'm so excited to get them installed.

I'm assuming they would give off harsh light? No?

I like the look, but what about when incandescent A-shape bulbs are banned in favor of CFL's?

Robinseggblues:

do they put out enough light?
i want to use within an apartment building lobby - but am concerned that 75 watts may be too dim.

thank you.
