Lamp Transformation: Wary Meyers

2007-05-09-warymeyers.jpg

Design superheroes Wary Meyers took this lamp from basic to amazing. For part of a series for Time Out New York, the team turned store bought items into one-of-a-kinds and this lamp redo is our favorite.

The starter lamp was $199 at West Elm. It was transformed with a coat of One Shot enamel paint in Polar White and a blue paint pen.

Creativity plus Chinoiserie goes a long way...

Goodness. That's beautiful work, but I'd be much more inspired if they'd transformed a $5 thrift store lamp.

Also, that shade just seems totally wrong for that lamp.

Dang!! Dang!! That is just seriously cool.

I'm also digging the Alvar Aalto–inspired stools. I love that their inspiration was Donald Judd's home and Alice Cooper records!

Those stools are too cool! This lamp is sooooo beautiful I agree, but Anne- I think you missed the point of the article- usually they take detritus from the sidewalks and make it awesome but this one time they had to work with what the big box companies gave them. I also think their version of the CB2 chair is genius!
