Given much thought to your lightswitch plates? We really haven't since our cute, long lost switchplate from childhood. We have fully accepted the plain white plates in every place we've lived, without inspection, question, or alternatives. Then we discovered these designs on Popgadget by St. Louis duo MetalMorphosis.

I used to make my own with fabric, wallpaper remnants and gift wrapping paper (turned out to be too fragile). Wrap them and shellac them.
I would buy replacement plates at Home Depot and cover them. I can not remember how much they cost but they were really cheap. I would then unscrew the original ones and store them until I moved out. Then I had coordinating plates for my decor that could move with me.
Thanks for reminding me I can make some new ones now.
