New at IKEA: Kulla Lamp

2007-07-24-kulla.jpg
Shiny, check. A great red, check. Simple good looks, check. Built in 3-way dimmer, check. Powder coated steel, check. $49.99, check!

Honestly, this lamp might be enough to get us to book the Zipcar and head out to Schaumburg this weekend....

What do you think? Worth the trip?

The Kulla Lamp is new at IKEA, available in black, white and red for $49.99.

Yep, worth the trip. I'd get a white one, too.

I like it, but man is that ever a rip-off of combination of designer lamps... think Flos, Plusminuszero, etc etc

Lovely! Definitely worth the trip to Schaumberg. I was considering a trip there, too, and this may seal the deal.

I bought one in January 2008, it no longer works in August 2008. First the touch stem went out..now the whole light. Don't waste your money!

re: furngirl

Same here!
How tragic - not only does it completely rip-off its design, but it also suffers from shoddy construction/engineering.

Did you get through to anyone at ikea customer service?
Just wondering if I should unleash my more DIY-savvy friends who might be able to help me de-construct it & rebuild it or if I'm going to have to sadly give up on it & scrap it.

(sorry, long post)
