Secto Lighting by Seppo Koho

When we saw these oversized pendant lamps the other day, we had no idea who the designer or manufacturer was, or even if they were designed and manufactured. Our first inclination was DIY, but they're actually an amazing design by interior architect Seppo Koho for Secto.

The Finnish Secto Design makes the lamps in natural birch, laminated white, and laminated black. As you can see, there are a few shapes and sizes available in pendants, table, floor, and wall lamps.

Made of pressed birch and intricately hand crafted by Finnish cabinet-makers, the lamps are made of variously shaped slats connected by rings of aircraft plywood. Available in the US through Rudd & Associates. (Thanks, MissL!)

These are quite nice. I have three in my loft and am awaiting a sconce for near the entryway.

haha- 'down unda' seppo is a non-flattering nickname for an american, meaning short for 'septic tank mouth.'
