The design by Bosses reminds us of the Upcycled Bottle Swag Lamp or those glasses by the Green Glass Company.
Dang! That's just what I've been trying to make. Since I can't find hanging lamp kits anywhere, though, mine will probably involve votives.

whytephoenix: Ikea sells plug-in hanging lamps for $3 (US). The bulb sockets aren't super attractive, but the cords look good. And it wouldn't be too hard to cut off the plug and hardwire it into a ceiling fixture.

more seriously, I can actually see this working at someone first apartment out of college more than at a restaurant where it comes across as a bit theme-parkish. Also, wasn't there a DIY HGTV project like this on a kitchen makeover recently?
