071806threads.jpgAT reader Kim just brought this consignment shop to our attention. Although we haven't been yet, we wanted to spread the word and hopefully get some reader feedback. Here's what Kim had to say:

Threads is a two-story warehouse with used furniture, accessories and art. Absolutely a hit or miss place to hunt for furniture, but I have gotten some wonderful things at a great price. It's also a great place to get rid of furniture. They will consign and pick it up for a 40/60 split.

Threads sounds like a great place to either scavenge for new stuff or get rid of the old. Let us know about your experience if you stop in!

(Thanks, Kim!)

I used Threads when I downsized from a 2-story townhome to a 1-bedroom condo. And man, that was a lot of downsizing. I literally gave them a truckload a truckload of furniture. Threads offered a trucking company to pick up my stuff, and there was a (in my mind) hefty fee for that. But they wrapped it all and did a wonderful job in getting it out of the house.

I went to the store about 3 months later to find a couple of my things still there, but all else was gone. Plus, I ended up getting a nice check from the sales. There were some nifty things available in the store, and it seems that their stock moves pretty quickly. It's much bigger than I thought it was. I have not bought anything there, but I certainly have used them to sell. Recommended for sure.
