I have two such jars. One is my lifetime flotsam jetsom jar filled with various small ephemera that would be lost in a cluttered drawer and too precious to discard (my grandpa's wedding ring, a small clock, little toys, watches, id bracelet, travel momentos, etc.). The other is a jar filled with little treasures that I have found while digging in the yard (old toys, berets, keys, etc.). Both are in very large French pickling jars.

I have a small jar with pencils and quite large one full of eracers (I usually lose them)

i have that very same jar holding all of my little animal figures and knick-knacks. although i feel bad that some get buried in the middle, lol.

A friend of mine inspired me to keep such a jar - filled with little serendipitous treasures... a green rubber frog found on the front porch, a lone dice found in some gravel, it makes every day into a treasure hunt.
