We attended NeoCon yesterday at the Merchandise Mart. It is a huge show with a focus on design for office, hospitality, education and healthcare with a bit of residential.
Our take on the overall vibe: very colorful, lots of pattern everywhere, and a strong move toward eco design and sustainability. Anyone who is even a little "green" was touting it and that makes us happy!

Thanks for covering NeoCon! A long-term aspiration to attend some day!
I'm curious can anyone attend? Or is it for design professionals only?

We've seen you do the ICFF roving reporter thing for AT-NY so well, I'm thinking you should come on out to Chicago for NeoCon next year...
Hi Katie:
Merchandise Mart does have consumer events that are open to the public from time to time (like the Antique Fair and the Treasure Hunt) but NeoCon is one of the "trade" shows.
