On Tuesday, the sky kept turning the most moody and rich colors we'd seen in a while. Out for a walk by the beach, we snapped a few photos of deep blue/gray sky meeting the light green water. As we stood on the beach for a while, we also wondered how it might be to live above the lake year-round in what looks more like a summer getaway (below). We love this place and its "outdoor home" feel.

We'd love to see some of the ways you experience an urban/nature encounter. Send us photos of what little or large elements are part of your "outdoor home"! (to chicago(at)apartmenttherapy(dot)com)
I always wanted to live next to Lake Michigan and I don't mean on the Drive across from it. Except that one year when there was a seiche. That was freaky.
