He took out the shelves inside the cabinets and replaced them with a clothes rod. Now he keeps all his sweaters, jackets, and shirts hanging next to the fireplace - a clever way to create clothes storage.
Does that mean his clothes are warmed if he has the fire on? Even "cooler"!!!!!!!!!

i'm really liking this trend toward creating custom closets in formerly-overlooked nooks. i am a big fan of rethinking the space alloted you in your home.
one of my favorite pictures ever on AT was from a house tour where the tenant moved her bed into her high-ceilinged closet. it fit like a glove and her new 'bedroom' was perfection.
i'd love to see more posts devoted to transforming closets into other 'rooms' and to showing seldom-thought of storage solutions in other parts of the home.
