Look! DMStudio's Hallway Gallery

Yesterday, we contemplated the Hallway as Gallery. Some of you were on board, others felt hallways are too dim and narrow for proper display, and one of you showed us your own successful hallway gallery...

Apartment Therapy reader dmstudio weighed in:

"Oddly enough, my hallway is where I have the greatest expanses of wall so my larger artwork naturally wound up there. The walls in all the other rooms are punctuated with windows, doors etc., so hanging large artwork won't work there. My hallway is 3' wide x 24' long and more contemporary than the above examples. The one problem I had was lighting as there were only two ceiling mounted fixtures, one on each end. I solved the problem by using cable lights the entire length so I could light the artwork on the walls."

That's his hallway pictured up top. From the looks of the photograph, the end of the hall and doorways across the hall offer several viewing opportunities for these relatively large paintings. And nice job on the lighting! For more from dmstudio, check out his webpage.

Nice. Perfect rug for the space, too!
