Look! Doctor's Office Design

082108-office.jpg While waiting for the doctor to make his way back to check on us, we had time to snap a few pictures of the great chairs that were in our office. We only wish we could have been sly enough to snap a shot of the rest of the furniture, which was not of the same era and probably came with ratted bangs and slouch socks. Click through for an up close look at our new favorite thing about waiting for the ENT...

082108-office2.jpg Aside from a few magazines that were slightly used and tattered, this was the only thing of interest about the time spent in waiting (which kudos to our doc, wasn't especially long). Does your physician have great taste? Next time you're out, send us a picture!

A little off topic, but I hate, hate, HATE those posters they have in the doctor's office. They turn me into an instant hypocondriac.

You must have looked so strange to the other patients snapping photos and posing chairs in the waiting room . . . ;)

No, the worst are the ones of diseased eyeballs!

I don't think I've ever been to a doctor's office that had real "decor." They've all been pretty ugly.

The college I went to had great danish modern furniture in the library. Beautiful tables of various sizes, dining chairs, lounges etc. What a waste! Maybe they'll do some redecorating soon and sell, or better yet, give away the old furniture.

The healing should begin as soon as you walk in the door. I'd love to get my hands on a waiting room.

women's health clinics (not necessarily your local ob/gyn, but the nice big ones that do fertility and wellness and things) often have real decor, it might be traditional, but they often have lots of wing chairs and loveseats that are nicely upholstered and arranged in small seating areas.

That's a poster featuring otitis media, or fluid in the middle ear. As far as medical posters go, it's very informative :)

It sounds like everyone at AT goes to the same doctor at the same time---I can just see you all snapping photo's all over the place---sounds like a new TV show for the simple minded TV viewers of today. You could do lawyers, doctors, food store, shoe store, etc. Looking for the really strange and bazaar elements of life. What really happens behind those doors marked for "Employes Only"? Could be kind of funny---I'm somewhat simple minded at times! Kind of like that cop show that takes place in Vegas.

Yes lady doctors waiting rooms are rather nice. Cushy, clean, not too cold.

My old doctor's office had the worst design. They literally took wood and angled the ends of it, painted it white and then I guess glued it to the walls all the way around the room to make a fence. And they had gross wallpaper behind it with those gross early 90s flower arrangements on it. Blegh. I hate pastels.

I did walk into a dressing room in a sears the other day and found the coolest little brushed metal naval chair. I have no idea where they might have bought it. I wanted to take a picture and ask around, but didn't have my camera and couldn't find an employee. I could use a cheap chair with good design.
