Look! Folding Table Height Hack

100909-table.jpg We posted about our adventures at the American Royal BBQ tournament yesterday over at The Kitchn, but while we were there one rather brilliant (new to us) idea really stood out. Table leg extensions! We quite often use a folding table of this nature for a portable workbench/holding area, but it can be a bit of a back strain...

The legs are extended by using simple plumbing pipe. Once the table legs are unfolded, the feet rest right inside, creating a workable height table that's perfect for working at. It would be perfect for buffets with holiday gatherings or working on a craft/diy project that doesn't mandate sitting at all times. We love finding simple fixes that make life a little easier!

I do this on my display tables at craft shows. One thing to note is to not make the extensions too high...they become quite wobbly

There are companies that sell tables with adjustable legs that adjust up to a counter height. They are not wobbly like the PVC pipe, You can also just buy the legs separately
They are the tables that you would rent at a trade show.
Handy for all kinds of applications like crafting, buffets, any kind of piece work. They come with a wood top and are usually 24" wide which is space saving.
