In Madison, Wisconsin, Frank Lloyd Wright's Pew House is on the market for $1,500,000. Cantilevered over a natural ravine with views of Lake Mendota, updates include a refinished cypress interior. We found this listed in "Best Properties on the Market" in a recent issue of The Week, a page that's always filled with some amazing homes plus one "steal of the week." From a 1925 cottage-style home in Eugene, Oregon to a 1955 Florida midcentury modern house on a canal connecting Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, we saw some sweet domestic eye candy!
More pics of the Pew House below (check out the amazing deck!):

I've always loved this house and believe me if I had that kind of money i would buy it.
Except for the fact that it's in Wisconsin, it's great.
OMG!!!! what a steal, dont get me wrong i have nothing close to that money, but if you saw what you get for 1.5 mil in queens NYC where i live :(

does "THE WEEK" have a website?
chris, here you go:

Wow. This is selling for less than the 4 bedroom house next to my apartment building in San Diego.
I love the view of the lake but not the wooded paneling interior. It's a bit too much for me; has a sort of 'Grizzly Adams' vibe goin on. Maybe on a cold snowy night this might have some appeal but I can go to a ski resort for that at this price I can ski in the Swiss Alps.

Here's another Wright property I noticed a while back - in Minnesota. Old friends of my family are selling their FLW compound, with 2 Wright homes - $3.75 million. Gorgeous-ness. Other Wright properties are listed at this website.
Comparing FLW to Grizzly Adams??? Good god, certainly the end is near.
Frank ~ no disrespect and not comparin - just my view of what I feel about this home.
I am an individual with my own taste, likes, and dislikes if you have a problem or anyone has a problem with that well... sorry but too bad.
My great uncle lived in a wright house in ohio, and family lore says it was a money pit. So caveat emptor. Wright had a vision, but apparently little patience for details like avoiding roof leaks.
Still, it's gorgeous. If I had the money, I'd be sorely tempted.
And no hating on wisconsin...the midwest rocks!
btw...madison wisconsin is often cited as one of the (if not the) best places to live in the US. So you'd be getting an architectural gem AND good schools, cultural life (U of Wisconsin is right there), beautiful parks, etc.
So you'd be getting an architectural gem and a great location.
