Once a mercantile store for those heading west, this store retained in its original location (as well as name) and anchors the downtown area of Independence, Mo. Selling specialty groceries and cookware, it's a great spot to spend an afternoon browsing...
This store in the mid century years was a JC Penney and has since changed hands to become the specialty grocer that it is today. Full of fresh bread and cheeses to gourmet sauces and chocolate, this store doesn't hold back on style or taste.
If you happen to be in town, this neighborhood is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Sorry to be grammar cop, but it's "ITS original location" and "JC Penney." I don't mind the comments being full of errors (for the most part) but some of the writers on this site need to edit their work better!

madsarah, you beat me to it. Every time I see a grammar error in a post, I just sigh heavily and wonder how it is that people who can't manage "its" and "it's" properly are getting paid to be writers. It happens all too often.
