Look!: Hotel San Jose in Austin, TX

Another stop on our Austin weekend was the Hotel San Jose, a quaint little old hotel with multiple courtyards, a small lobby complete with wood and leather done lightly and a tiny raised bar in the corner. We didn't stay in one of the 40 rooms (varied in size and amenities), but rather went to enjoy the main courtyard, a glass of wine and a giant cheese plate. The lush outdoor area was beautiful even on the dark and rainy day we visited, and we easily passed a few hours here sipping away and listening to the live music on the streets a few hundred feet away.

The site gives a small glimpse into the rooms, which look modest and just right. Has anyone ever stayed here??

The rooms vary widely in size, but all are sleek, modern and almost asian in feel. They have smelly-in-a-good-way Modern Organic Products tolietries in the bath, and Jo's Hot Coffee is right next door in the A.M. I think they will deliver, but I'm not sure.
The lobby is tiny, but bright and fresh too. Friendly folks. THe landscaping is lush and fabulous, as you noted. Some of the room entries are practically hidden with all the greenery.

I love staying here and highly recommend her other hotel, the Thunderbird in Marfa, Texas.

Pretty soon allll that jasmine covering the north suites will bloom and their scent will mix with the wisteria that covers the arbors. I expect the bar/courtyard area will be a hard place to beat on a sunny, breezy Austin afternoon.
