Look! Jute Recyling Bags From World Market

111008-recyclingbins.jpg Recycling is a great thing, but making the actual process of doing so isn't always glamorous. We really like the looks of these screenprinted jute recycling bags from World Market. Click through the jump for a link and very reasonable pricing information.

Each bag is roughly 20 inches tall and 12.5 inches wide and although that doesn't sound like much, when we saw them in person they didn't feel small in the slightest. Aside from your own personal use, we think they would make great housewarming gifts or Wedding/Christmas presents! You can find them online and in store for $6.99 each!

Why does everything have to come in plastic?

I want to get some, but yeah why is it in plastic?

I bought recycling bags, though not this brand. My verdict is that they are great for paper but a pain for glass/plastic. Unless you want to thoroughly wash everything before you put it in the bag. Else, it will get dirty and gross, and they are a pain in the you-know-what to clean.

Jute is an inexpensive vegetable fiber.

My guess is that unless these are full of stuff, they will flop around like three sacks...and yeah would get dirty pretty quickly.

Recycling in Chicago confuses the piss out of me. I guess they have killed the blue bag program (thank god!), but what do those of us with no cars do until there are blue bins in every alley? And I never knew what to do with cardboard and paper. It's like this city doesn't want you to recycle.

I'll put in a good word for this product. My recycling has to sit out in the open in my apartment and these don't look as bad as other options. They don't fall over when empty and hold quite a bit. Which is nice since I go to the recycling center about once a month. I haven't had a problem with them getting dirty, but I do rinse all my glass and plastic and let them dry before putting them in the bag.

first5times:

I was under the impression that you can keep using blue bags until you get a blue bin.

As for cardboard and paper, you can stick it in your blue bag/bin. ?
