This man knows what he's doing.
We love this story from the Sun-Times today. Mr. Gregory Cooper really likes his home. He liked it when he bought it 1981, and he likes it now. The fact that towering high rises were built on both sides of it hasn't changed that. Cooper described the lengthy construction processes as "surreal...such a piece of performance art. Just brilliant.".
In his words, he "just rolled with it", even inviting friends over for alfresco construction watching parties, complete with cocktails. Mr. Cooper feels about his home the way we all hope to: "This is my home, my nest. I don't want to move," he said. "I love it here. I've always loved it."
The article goes on to outline the history of the home, its previous owners as well as the changes to the interior and neighborhood over the years.
