Look! Milk Machine Color Inspiration

2008-06-02-milk.JPGWe snapped a photo of this vintage milk vending machine because it shows off one of our all time favorite color combinations, chalky light blue with red. It caught our eye in the corner of a pretty well known spot in Michigan - does anyone know where it stands? Jump below for the location and another pic:

This color combo, especially with the added addition of the sunny yellow, just says "childhood" to us - it feels fresh and friendly, but can make the transition into grown up rooms very well, especially those with a bit of a Scandinavian flavor.

We're betting that many of you who have taken a trip to Michigan at one time or another may have remembered the machine - we saw it when we took the kids for ice cream in New Buffalo on Labor Day. It's in Oink's Dutch Treat, nestled in among all the piggy mementos.

I knew it was Oinks! Love this place! Grew up with a lake house in Grand Beach, and took MANY late night trips to Oinks!

Oinks!!! I spent many hot summer nights there as a child, with some kind of blue or pink ice cream dripping down my chin.... they have lots of fun stuff in there. I always loved their vintage ice cream scoop collection. Spending time in that area is probably why I love antiques and vintage finds so much---there is a lot of that around there.
