Orange and Purple is usually a combo done in small doses. Although this house in Kansas City seems to have taken it to the extreme. Give us your thoughts on it after the jump...

The orange and purple are certainly eye catching, but we think they work quite nicely in combination with the metal siding.
This building resides in a residential neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri. The outside of the building reads: Mosiac Group, although our google skills are failing us to locate a company with such a name in the metro area. Anyone have any ideas?
Reminds me of a cottage that was shown on HTGV (maybe) done all in Orange and Purple - obviously in Minnesota...
This isn't quite as bad - but wouldn't be my first choice of colors.

Do not like the color---really do not like the landscaping for this house. This type of house needs landscaping far and above the normal to make it work. I see them all over town and never are they done right. Really pulls down the look of the house.

That's not my favourite combo. Purple and green, or orange and blue both "work", since they are complimentary colours on the colour wheel. Orange and purple have no such relationship, so it's a combo that's less pleasing to the eye (at least based on colour theory). Of course, no one is forcing anyone to adhere to any such loose "rules".

The east facade of this building has a couple of spots where someone egged it. Apparently they didn't care for the color scheme either.

Love this house! Needs more shrubs and plantings though.

Nice color combo; purple is my daughter's favorite color, so she'd love this house.

I think it's an awesome looking house! The purple and orange are in nice proportion and position, and really complement the metallic facade and the blue tint of the windows. Sure, the landscaping could be better, but so could most house's. Way to go KC! I sure wish we saw more innovative design like this in Chicago's re-developing 'hoods.

Actually, Yellow-Orange and Blue-Violet are across from each other on the color wheel, and the colors of this house look close to those shades. Red and Green are complimentary, so are Yellow and Purple, not Purple and Green (unless you're a fan of Yellow-Green, then yes, Purple is across from it). I personally like the combination, and tossed the idea of putting purple sheets instead of blue with my orange and white comforter. Now I think I may do it.

It's actually a secondary color triad if you take into account all the green in the landscape. It's not what I would do but I don't hate it... I agree, the metal keeps it from being entirely outlandish.
And if you're a fan of yellow-green, red-violet, specifically, would be its complement.

The Mosaic Group appears to be a marble and tile contractor: http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_jl4ggm
This concept could have been executed in a much better way. I appreciate the incorporation of color in an otherwise starck modern palette, but also wish that the landscaping was actually designed.
I wonder what sorts of tile and marble can be found inside???

I would of painted the orange wall a color that was the same or near same as the wood on the deck on the second floor.

I like the overall design of the house.
The orange is okay, but the purple doesn't appeal to me.
I am a bit bothered by the fact that the horizontal joints in the orange stucco wall on the right don't align with the horizontal joints in the metal panels. There's a real disconnect between the two building elevations, kind of like the standard subdivision houses with the brick veneer slapped on the front street side, but with cheap siding on the sides and back.

It's playful and fun, but the joints also bother me ...... alot!
I also wonder about if it fits in the neighborhood from a solely contextural standpoint! Would look great in California, but I'm just curious about Kansas City. The colors don't bother me at all.

That is a former coworker's house! The house is a new infill house, in a very historic part of town, that is predominately Hispanic. As Cynthia is hispanic, I think that it is work great. If I remember right, it was built by her father, a contractor, for very little money.
