Yesterday we got an unexpected present - my husband brought home this print by Chicago artist Mat Daly advertising an organic plant sale at the Green Grocer. (We photographed it in our recently painted, just-moved-in living room. Before we actually hang it we'll get it framed.) Click below for more info on the artist and the plants...

The Green Grocer is a new market owned by husband-and-wife team Cassie Green and Gary Stephens. Located at the intersection of Grand and Noble Streets, the shop specializes in organic, locally grown foods. Although the sale has since passed, they currently still have organic plants from Wisconsin's Tomato Mountain Farms available for purchase. Mat Daly's poster can be purchased through Green Grocer for $10. To see more of his artwork, visit his website.

"Did you mean June 3?"
I'm pleasantly surprised this wasn't recycled as a lot of topics have been lately. Research suggests this article was misplaced in sarahc's move last month, as the date is printed on the poster, and the event occurred a few weeks ago.
But I wanted to ask, re: "Yesterday we got an unexpected present - my husband brought home this print..." did you mean 'our'*? That paragraph is ridiculously we-heavy when you mean I. You're allowed to get a personal present from your own husband and communicate it as such, I'd think.
*not to insert myself in that 'our' but that your pronouns should agree even if it implies you're a polygamist, or we is weird. It's finally gotten to me.

Sorry - complete mental meltdown. The May 3 sale is over, but the Green Grocer still has plants from Tomato Mountain farms available, as well as the poster.
KTG, we try to stick to the first person plural for consistency across the sites, although I did say "my husband" since Janel, Heather, Jessica, Alex and I aren't all part of the same Big-Love style family. :) But, it does create an inconsistency in the paragraph - next time I'll just day "we got a present..."

KTG - if you don't like the posts, please don't read and please don't post petty criticisms. This is a blog, not a graduate thesis in journalism. That said, these writers work hard to bring interesting content to us every day. It's not such a bad thing to "recycle" content once in a while because some of us don't read AT as often as others do, and we do miss things that were previously posted.
