The lanterns we saw are elaborate paper creations, each one created around images or patterns that look like they could be pages taken from old books. Here's a Decormag article about Oligny's work (in French). It has a few accompanying photos of her lanterns:
While we're in Color Month, it's worth mentioning more of the Olive et Gourmando interiors. More to come in a followup post...

Is there some reason they're hung all together? Are they for sale/decoration, like some establishments might do with art? I really REALLY like these, but I don't like them all at once, since they're just all very different and special. This way reminds me of shit "like Anthropologie" everyone seems to adore. I have been bored by paper lamps for a while because they're usually boring and cheap/dorm looking. Very nice to see someone take the concept in a fabulous direction.

KTG, You point out something I should have mentioned in the post: the lamps you see here are on exhibit at Olive & Gourmando's and are indeed for sale. For purchasing info, contact Geneviève Oligny at 819.327.5485.

Thanks Regina! It is probably too expensive, but I did try to translate that page and hoped it wasn't just an art installation. I'm glad the pieces are being offered for sale individually. They're very unique and offer a lot of style that's hard to find usually.
